Dancing at the music festival

We learned tonight that Salsa dancing is Addilyn's favorite type of music.  She had some hilarious dance moves.  Where does she learn how to dance like that?  At least her rhythm is more like mommy's than daddy's!

Unpacking...Finished!

Less than 2 weeks after moving in, we are officially unpacked!  Thanks to Stella, we unpacked much faster than we had planned since the boxes created an unsafe environment for a walker-in-training!

Tomorrow, we are off to the Sun Dried Music Festival in Downtown Mason.  Dancing in the streets!  I will post pictures and videos this weekend!

Lazy Sunday

Over the weekend, we enjoyed the beautiful weather in the Mason and East Lansing area.  We started the day off on Sunday by attending a new church in Mason.  It is a very welcoming and inviting church, with a great priest from Fiji.  He seems to be entertaining and gives you a take home story to think about -- something we have been lacking in churches so far.  We then went to Tim Horton's ~ a donut and coffee shop started in Canada.  I suppose we're not too far from Canada, so that makes some sense.  Tim Horton was a hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs.  I'm not sure how that translates into donuts, but they were good!  And so was the coffee!  We then went to the East Lansing Farmer's Market, enjoyed some more Michigan peaches and apples, played on the playground (mosquito free!), and Addilyn enjoyed painting a masterpiece.  It was a great weekend settling in to our new home.  Next week we hope to catch a movie at the $2.00 seats.  Addilyn and Stella want to see Winnie the Pooh.

New Home

Since my last blog entry, many life events have transpired.  In no particular order:

1) Daddy finished his dissertation and received his Ph.D.
2) Mommy and Daddy turned 30 years old.
3) Stella started crawling, and is now standing up on her own with very little support.
4) Daddy got a new job at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
5) We moved from 414 16th Street SE, Cedar Rapids to 339 E. Oak Street, Mason, Michigan.

I'm sure many other events happened during that time as well, but those are the big ones that stick out in my mind.  The kids are adjusting quite well to their new environment.  In fact, we all love it here in Michigan.  The neighborhood is quiet and nice, the weather is cool, the new job is working out great.  Life is good.

As you can see by the pictures below, the kids are really enjoying their new home in Mason, Michigan.  We must especially thank our families for helping us move here.  We couldn't have done it without you! We miss you all.

I promise to update the blog at least weekly, so please start checking back often!

Lots of Love,
Andy, Heather, Addilyn, & Stella
